Feature 5 of 8 · Time
Time & Leave
One weekly timesheet across every project, with rules that keep logged hours honest, and leave that follows the reporting line and feeds straight into capacity.
Timesheets
Log
A week across every project
Monday to Sunday, one row per work item, with day and week totals. Time logged here and from a work item is the same record.
Check
Rules shown before saving
The same rules are enforced by the server too, so nothing slips through another route.
Roll up
Logs drive the work item
Once time is logged, a work item's completed hours are the sum of its logs and remaining hours count down. Hours typed earlier are kept, never lost.
Oversee
A team view for leads
Project leads see every member's week and can correct or log on their behalf, including in locked months.
The rules
| Rule | What happens |
|---|---|
| More than 8 hours in a day | The day is highlighted as a warning. It can still be saved. |
| More than 12 hours in a day, across projects | Blocked. One entry is also at most 12 hours. |
| Overlapping times on the same day, across projects | Refused. |
| A future date, or a range past midnight | Refused. |
| A month before last | Read only, with the reason shown, unless a project lead corrects it. |
Each entry has a note and a billable switch that starts from the project's billable default. Logged hours feed the project's Team cost, each person's utilisation, and the weekly status.
Leave
Request
Dates, not day counts
Pick dates and a full or half day, add a reason. PMO Assist works out the working days from the branch's weekends and public holidays.
Approve
Follows the reporting line
A request goes to the person's line manager, who sees their whole reporting line. Resource managers can approve anyone's.
Plan
Visible where it matters
Everyone on a project sees when allocated colleagues are away, and approved leave reduces capacity in planning automatically.
Calendar and shifts
- A month calendar of working days, weekends, public holidays and leave, per office or across all offices, and a holiday list with export.
- Each branch has its own weekend days and holidays; these drive both leave counts and capacity.
- Every person always has a shift, which defines their working hours, with full history.
Why it matters for leadership
- Cleaner data for billing, cost and utilisation: no future-dated, overlapping or impossible days.
- Closed months stay closed unless a lead corrects them deliberately.
- Leave is visible where it affects delivery, not only to the approver.
