Leave and calendar
Leave follows the reporting line, not projects, and approved leave takes capacity out of planning automatically. Leave and Calendar sit under Availability in the sidebar, for everyone with a resource profile.
The Leave page
| Tab | Who sees it | What it holds |
|---|---|---|
| My leave | Everyone | Your own requests and their status. |
| Approvals | Anyone who approves leave | Requests waiting on you. A manager sees their whole reporting line, reports of reports included. |
| Everyone | Those who read leave across the organisation, such as resource managers | The organisation-wide ledger. Non-administrators see their own branch. |
Requesting leave
- On My leave, choose to request leave.
- Pick From and To, and the Duration: a full day or a half day. A half day is always a single date.
- Add a Reason and send.
You don't enter a day count: PMO Assist works out the working days, leaving out weekends and your branch's public holidays. A request is pending until approved or rejected. You can cancel your own, and an approver can cancel one too.
Approving leave
- Open Leave › Approvals.
- Approve or reject each request.
- Line managers approve for everyone beneath them. The Line manager template comes automatically with having direct reports.
- Resource managers approve anyone's, and can book leave that is already approved, without a request.
- Everyone on a project sees when the people allocated to it are away.
The calendar
- Calendar: a month grid of working days, weekends, public holidays and your leave. Choose an office, or see every office.
- Holidays: the year's public holidays as a table, filtered by office and type, with an export. Adding and changing them needs the Workspace manager template.
Each branch has its own weekend days and holidays; these decide both leave day counts and capacity.
Shifts
A shift defines a person's working hours. Every resource always has one, and a new assignment runs until the next starts. Shifts are kept under Shifts in the Organization group, by those who manage the organisation.
