Accounts and programmes
An account is a client. A programme is a body of work under one account. Every project sits under an account, and optionally a programme, so delivery can be read client by client. Accounts live under Accounts in the sidebar.
Creating an account
Account ownerDelivery managerWorkspace managerAdmin
- Open Accounts and choose New account.
- Enter a Name and, optionally, a Description, then choose Create account.
An Account owner becomes the Owner of every account they create. A Delivery manager, Workspace manager or administrator manages every account already, without a role on it.
Adding a programme
- On the account's card, choose Add programme.
- Name it and choose Create programme.
Each card's ⋯ menu edits or removes an account or programme. One still in use is retired rather than deleted: its projects keep it, and it stops being offered for new ones. Show retired brings retired ones back into view.
Account roles
A role on an account reaches every project under it, without being added to each project.
| Role | Sees | Can also |
|---|---|---|
| Viewer | Each project's overview, plan (milestones, releases, areas), published reports and team. Not work items or sprints. | Nothing. Read only. |
| Manager | The same, plus work items and sprints. | Create projects under the account; write, publish and withdraw its projects' weekly status and delivery reports. |
| Admin | The same as a manager. | Edit the account, its programmes and members; manage project members. |
| Owner | The same as a manager. | Everything an admin does, and work on every project under the account as its lead. Only an owner, or someone who manages every account, gives or removes the Owner role. |
Executives, leadership and sales hold the Viewer role. A project's archive and delete stay with its own owner or an administrator.
Managing members
AdminOwner of the account
- Open the account, then the Members tab, and choose Add member.
- Person: search by name or email (at least two letters).
- Role: Viewer, Manager, Admin, or Owner where you may give it. The dialog explains each.
- Choose Add member.
- Change a role or remove someone from their row on the Members tab.
- Someone can't be a Viewer while they still edit a project under the account. PMO Assist lists those projects; change their project role first, or choose Manager.
- Stakeholders must exist first. An executive with no login is invited by an administrator under People›Invite stakeholder, which can also give their account roles in the same step.
The account page
| Tab | What it holds |
|---|---|
| Delivery | Every live project, worst health first, with a stat row: projects by health, milestones overdue or at risk, releases due in 30 days, projects reporting, blockers open. Each card has one status (health, the worst reason, the step that would change it), the next milestone, the next release and the latest published weekly status. Below: open milestones and planned releases across the account. |
| Reports | Delivery reports published under the account, the account's own and its projects', newest first. Managers see drafts and can start an account report here. |
| Projects | The account's projects, by programme. |
| Members | Who holds which role. |
On an account with more than three projects, Brief me on this account asks AI for three to five sentences to repeat in a meeting, written only from the cards on the page.
Placing a project
A project's account and programme are set in the new project wizard, and changed later in its Settings›General›Client and contract. Moving a project to another account needs the right to manage both accounts. Setting the delivery model needs organisation-wide portfolio rights: a Delivery manager, a Workspace manager or an administrator.
